It is 2008. The market is falling, and David has been hired to empty the complex quietly. Then the property's history starts to surface.

The characters
Four people, one property, one deal
A magnetic, morally bereft Black eviction specialist. He could be the story's reluctant conscience. Or, as everywhere else in his life, he could make the wrong decision.
Wise, disarming and immovable. An eighty-year-old man who maintains the property, and has kept its darkest secrets hidden for decades.
Nelson's protégé and David's ex. Thrown into the economic crisis, she has to save her father's legacy with no safety net.
An unassuming inside source. She holds the link between the past and the deal.
Why now
The market
Two proven commercial lanes meet here: the prestige Black drama (Moonlight, Judas and the Black Messiah) and the thriller with a secret (Get Out, Knives Out). Reparations, gentrification and corporate accountability are at the front of the culture, and audiences are primed for exactly this story.
